Bowen Therapy Treatment
...bringing you The Bowen Technique,
a non invasive treatment for pain relief and
      general well-being...

What is Bowen?

The Bowen Technique is a gentle and effective hands-on-treatment.  A Therapist uses their thumbs and fingers to make a series of rolling-type moves over muscle and soft tissue.  The majority of the moves can be performed through light clothing such as a T-shirt or leggings or if preferred directly on the skin.  During the treatment there are a number of short breaks where the client is left resting to allow their body to respond to the gentle moves that have been performed.  This rest period is an important part of the treatment and gives the body time to start the process of repair.  Once started, this process can be rapid with even longstanding pain reduced or resolved in two or three treatments.

What does it treat?

The Bowen Technique treats the body as a whole and not just the symptom.  This means that practically any problem can potentially be addressed.  The most common problems include back and neck pain, sciatica, whiplash, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, joint pain, RSI and knee problems.  It can also be helpful with migraines, acute and chronic fatigue, depression, irritable bowel, respiratory and digestive problems, infant colic, PMT to name but a few.

Who can it treat?

The pressure used in the Bowen move is very light and not at all forceful or invasive and because of this it is suitable for adults and children including babies and the elderly.  Also sports people wishing to prevent injury, speed up recovery from an injury or ensure old injuries do not cause future problems.  Some people that have no injury or pain are now having Bowen treatments as a means of relaxation for stress management and health maintenance.

NOTE:  The Bowen Technique is not a substitute for medical treatment.
